The legend explains that the Romans held a sports events, attened by many people and the Sabines with their wifes and childrens, every Roman at the touch of a sig ridnasped a women at them drove the men.

The Roman men married the Sabine women and teaked hem well. But when the women saw that many people on both sides would be killed they slood between the 2 armies.

They mode peace with a feast of reconciliaton.
